Karma

A statement I want to share tonight is from one of my most favorite philosophers, scholars, and teachers: Jordan Peterson. "One cannot twist the fabric of reality without reality itself snapping back at you." In all of his years practicing clinical psychology, he "has never seen anyone get away with anything."..."Something that truly terrifies him."

These words from his speech has had a profound effect on me and my perspective on reality. For essentially, he is telling the audience that karma exists. In some way. In some form. It is astonishing to me that a psychologist who has been practicing and treating people for over 20 years, has "never seen anyone get away with anything." It changed me because I realize that how I traverse this reality has an effect onto myself as well as others. It is as if an omnipotent and omniscient being is listening and observing everything, making fucking damn sure that people get what they deserve. An interesting and daunting idea if you ask me.

Getting what they deserve. Logically, one can alter that statement into the following: You will get what you deserve. It has no negative or positive connotation behind it. Rather, it sounds almost like a law in my mind. I love this idea because it makes me realize that one will get what one work for. The marshmallow test is a good analogy and diversion for one to be reminded of the concept of delayed gratification. How if one has positive intentions with a good heart who works hard, treasure will come.

So a valuable piece of information I would like to give to you reader is this: Walk upon this reality with good intentions and the reality will reward you relative to your efforts. Those with malicious intent will receive a malicious ending. Those with positive intent will receive what one desires and deserves. A lovely idea and law whoms' lives are governed by. Mine as well.
